United States-Japan Natural Resources Panel on Aquaculture
The United States Japan Cooperative Program in Natural Resources (UJNR) was established in 1964, and the Aquaculture Panel was established in 1968 as a panel for utilization of marine resources. The joint meeting started in 1971, and since 1977 joint meetings and scientific symposiums have been held alternately between Japan and the United States. In addition, the UJNR Aquaculture Panel has conducted research exchanges and joint research on aquaculture between Japan and U.S. The Japan secretariat is the Japan Fisheries Research and Education Agency, and the US secretariat is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The 47th joint meeting was held in Okinawa, Japan in November 2019. |
